Personal care is hands-on help with the activities of daily living (ADLs) — the everyday tasks that keep someone clean, safe and comfortable at home.
What it is
Personal care is hands-on help with the activities of daily living (ADLs) — the everyday tasks that keep someone clean, safe and comfortable at home.
Personal care visits on Elaine are performed by caregivers who hold a current Ohio STNA or CNA certification, verified against the state registry.
What a visit can include
- Bathing, showering and grooming
- Dressing and undressing
- Mobility and transfers, and fall prevention
- Toileting and continence support
- Feeding and meal assistance
- Medication reminders (not administration)
What it does not include
Elaine provides non-medical home care only. Caregivers do not:
- Give injections, wound care or other skilled nursing
- Administer medication
- Provide physical therapy or any clinical treatment
Where it is available
Personal care is available wherever Elaine has certified supply. It is live in the Lima & Allen County area today, and turns on in each new area as caregivers come online.

Yes. Personal care on Elaine requires a current Ohio STNA or CNA, verified against the state registry.
Is personal care the same as home health care?
No. Home health is skilled, clinical care ordered by a physician. Personal care is non-medical help with daily activities.
